Kindergarten and First Grade will collect items for support the needs of the members of the US armed forces. This is a very worthy organization that accomplishes their mission by sending packages of supplies that are not readily available to our troops in their deployed locations, along with personal letters, cards and notes of support from the community at large.
We will be collecting items From May 8-12.

Along with the PTA, our White Eagle Second graders are helping serve families in need this season by sponsoring White Eagle Elementary’s coat, boot and winter accessories clothing drive with the goal of providing some extra warmth to families during the cold Chicagoland winter.
There is a tremendous need for new or gently used winter coats, boots, hats, gloves, scarves and mittens of all sizes (NB-Adult). Many families have been faced with job-loss or reduced working hours for an extended period of time, and the added cost of winter apparel for the family can be a hefty expense.
Results: This year we gathered 200 winter items in partnership with the 204 district helped families all over Chicagoland. Thank you for participating!
Our goal is to raise at least 500 cans to help out the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry in the greater Aurora area.
By bringing in canned food items we can help families in need while teaching our third graders the importance of community service.

Once again, White Eagle School is participating in the Giving Tree program sponsored by Aurora-area charities. Each year they provide over 1,500 gifts to needy children in the area. White Eagle families alone generously supply over 300 gifts. This is in partnership with the Salvation Army.
This is a community service project sponsored by the 5th grade classes. It is a wonderful way for us to provide gifts to needy children in our surrounding neighborhoods.
How Does Giving Tree Work?
A holiday tree is set up at White Eagle School with tags as ornaments. Each tag has a child’s age and toy request. Students participating in this project will select a tag from the tree. The child brings the tag home and the child and his/her family purchase one clothing item and one toy item for the child.
Results: White Eagle donated over 300 gifts to families in need during the holiday season. Learn more at: https://saangeltree.org
